Choose between webhooks and polling
A finished job is signalled one of two ways. Kling AI, Luma, Replicate and PixVerse call a webhook; Google's Veo, MiniMax and LTX describe polling a status until it changes. From 7 source pages, read 2026-09-25 to 2026-10-25; no maker pays to be listed.
Polling is quicker to build and fine for a handful of jobs a day.
A webhook suits volume: no loop of empty requests, and the result arrives as soon as it exists.
Many tools offer both. Use the webhook as the main route and a slow status check as the fallback, so a missed call does not lose a take.
Check whether callbacks are signed before trusting them; Kling AI documents how to verify its signature.
Log the job ID either way, since it is how a result is found again.
| Tool | Hook | What the documentation says |
|---|---|---|
| Kling AI | Webhooks | A callback URL notified when a task's status changes, with signed requests |
| Luma | Webhooks | A callback URL that receives status updates and the video |
| Replicate | Webhooks | Webhooks that deliver a finished prediction's metadata and output |
| PixVerse | Webhooks | A webhook that reports each change in a task's status |
| Google Veo | Webhooks | The operation status polled until the video is ready |
| MiniMax | Webhooks | A task status polled by ID until the video is ready |
| LTX | Webhooks | Async jobs polled for status, at least five seconds apart |

1As the documentation puts it
the server will actively notify you when the task status changes
Kling AI, API documentation: callback protocol
It will get status updates (dreaming/completed/failed)
Luma, API documentation: Python video generation
Sending notifications when long-running predictions finish.
Replicate, documentation: webhooks
PixVerse can send task-status updates to your callback URL whenever the status of a video-generation task changes.
PixVerse, platform documentation: webhook callbacks
Poll the operation status until the video is ready.
Google, Gemini API documentation: Veo
Poll the task status using the task_id
MiniMax, API documentation: video generation guide
We recommend waiting at least 5 seconds between polls.
LTX, API documentation: async jobs

2A pipeline stage, described
Read against “Choose between webhooks and polling”, this is how SceneMixer describes the matching stage of its own pipeline:
You own the output — download finished episodes and publish to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, or short-drama platforms.

SceneMixer turns a novel into a watchable short-drama series in one pipeline: upload the novel (Chinese or English) → AI extracts characters, scenes, and an episode-by-episode structure → generates consistent character and scene art → writes storyboard scripts → renders video segment by segment (16:9 by default, 9:16 in one setting) → composites full episodes.
