How AI video tools plug into a pipeline

Polling: asking again until a video is done

Polling means asking an API for a job's status at intervals until it reports success or failure, then fetching the result. From 5 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

Google's Veo documentation polls the operation until the video is ready. MiniMax polls a task by ID and suggests ten seconds between checks, LTX asks for at least five, and Adobe's Firefly API returns a status URL to poll.

It is the simplest way to wait: no public server, just a loop and a pause.

At volume it wastes requests, and a short interval can run into rate limits.

Runway's SDKs build polling in, so the loop is written once by the maker rather than by every caller.

Seven tools in the register describe polling as the way a finished job is found.

A sensible pipeline polls with a growing pause and a time limit, and records each job's ID so an interrupted run can pick up where it left off.

1As the documentation puts it

Poll the operation status until the video is ready.

Google, Gemini API documentation: Veo

Poll the task status using the task_id

MiniMax, API documentation: video generation guide

We recommend waiting at least 5 seconds between polls.

LTX, API documentation: async jobs

repeatedly polls statusUrl to see when Firefly completes the job

Adobe, Firefly API: using the asynchronous API

Built-in task polling

Runway, developer documentation: SDKs

2One tool in the same pipeline

Read against “Polling”, this is how SceneMixer describes the matching stage of its own pipeline:

Doubao Seed 2.1 Turbo is the tier every account uses for text work until you change it: it reads the script, writes with AI when you ask, and generates each episode’s storyboard, at 50% of the base text rate.

SceneMixer, Doubao Seed 2.1 Turbo: the default text tier (read 2026-10-13)

It rewrites one episode's storyboard from its outline, discarding that episode's segments and videos.
