XML export from an AI video tool
An XML export writes the structure of an edit, clips, order and timing, into a file an editing suite can read, so a cut can be rebuilt elsewhere. From 3 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
When LTX and Forward Festival Berlin ran a sixty-second film contest, its rules let entrants do their post-production and editing through an XML export from LTX.
XML carries decisions, not pictures; the media travels alongside it.
It is the classic route from one editing system to another, and it lets an AI-generated cut be finished in a professional suite.
Descript documents the same route for an editor: a timeline export into Premiere Pro, Final Cut and Pro Tools.
invideo takes the other route and keeps editing inside its own timeline editor.
The two routes suit different teams. An XML hand-off assumes an editor working in a professional suite who wants to keep the AI cut as a starting point; a built-in timeline assumes the whole job can be done in one tool. Neither page says which suites can read the XML, which is worth checking before relying on it.
| Tool | Hook | What the documentation says |
|---|---|---|
| LTX | Hand-off | Editing through an XML export, as the rules of its own film competition put it |
| Descript | Hand-off | Timeline export into Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Pro Tools and other editors |
| invideo | Hand-off | Its own timeline editor, pitched as Premiere Pro with AI built in |

2Where a drama generator fits
Read against “XML export”, this is how SceneMixer describes the matching stage of its own pipeline:
SceneMixer turns a novel into a watchable short-drama series in one pipeline: upload the novel (Chinese or English) → AI extracts characters, scenes, and an episode-by-episode structure → generates consistent character and scene art → writes storyboard scripts → renders video segment by segment (16:9 by default, 9:16 in one setting) → composites full episodes.

You can recomposite with different end-card text, and in step-by-step mode you can reshoot individual segments. The finished file can also be downloaded and shared with a link.
