How AI video tools plug into a pipeline

Expiring links for AI video results

An expiring link is a download address that stops working after a set time, commonly used by APIs to hand back generated files. From 5 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

Alibaba Cloud's Wan API returns the video through a link that is valid for 24 hours. D-ID's result URL lasts 24 hours too, Runway's output URLs 24 to 48 hours, and Replicate removes API outputs after an hour.

SceneMixer takes the opposite approach for its finished episodes: a full-quality download plus a share link that opens a page.

An expiring link makes storage the caller's job. A pipeline has to copy the file somewhere permanent before the link lapses.

Missed links are a common cause of lost takes in automated pipelines.

A robust pipeline treats the link as a notice, not a store: fetch as soon as a job completes, check the file plays, then record where it lives. The same care applies to any result handed back by URL, whether or not the page says when the link will stop working.

Twenty-four hours is short over a weekend.
