How AI video tools plug into a pipeline

Aggregator APIs for AI video

An aggregator API offers many providers' models behind one set of calls and one bill, instead of a separate account with each maker. From 3 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

Pika's API describes itself as one API for video, image, audio and music models, including Pika's own, and lists models from several makers, Kling 3.0 at 4K among them. fal lists over a thousand models behind one API, and Replicate runs many makers' models beside custom ones.

Aggregators trade depth for breadth. A maker's own API may expose settings an aggregator does not.

They make comparison easier: the same request can go to several models with little change.

Check which version of each model an aggregator serves; names on the list may lag the maker's own releases.

For a pipeline, an aggregator is also a single point of failure. If it changes a model's settings, raises a price or drops a provider, every workflow built on it changes at once. Teams that depend on one model for a series often keep a direct account with its maker as well, even when day-to-day calls go through the aggregator.

The page read does not say whether requests through Pika's API reach the latest version of each model on release day.

Compare the per-model settings an aggregator exposes with the maker's own reference before committing.

2A pipeline stage, described

Read against “Aggregator API”, this is how SceneMixer describes the matching stage of its own pipeline:

The same way as a photographic one: the character is generated once as a reference sheet and that image is sent with every shot they are in, along with a couple of face-distinguishing notes. Shots refer to the character rather than re-describing their look.

It is the reference every later segment points at, which is what keeps a character's face and a location consistent across an episode.
